Retired Nevadans join C4CC Push for Competition, Consumer Interest

Carson City, NV (July 5, 2007) Consumers for Competitive Choice (C4CC) gained another important voice this week as the Nevada Alliance for Retired Americans (NARA) and its seventeen chapters throughout the state joined the national consumer advocacy group.

“NARA is a highly respected and strong advocate for its 16,000 members and
is a welcome addition to our wide array of consumer groups,” said Jim Conran, C4CC executive director. “Retired and older consumers, who often rely on fixed incomes, are among those who most need the benefits of competition in the marketplace.”

C4CC is focused on bringing robust competition to the energy, health care, finance and communications industries because the vast majority of consumers’ monthly expenditures are made in those areas. As competition grows within the industries, prices will fall, services will expand and the quality of customer service will improve. NARA advocated for Nevada's recently adopted cable competition bill, which is projected to save consumers millions of dollars in monthly cable bills.

“C4CC is tackling the big issues that matter to retired Nevadans,” said Scott Watts, NARA president. “We are proud to support their objectives and look forward to helping achieve these goals for all Americans.”
